We combined Sistine Chapel, Augmented Reality and made impression of being in this space by projection mapping of data. By mixing various techniques we achieved the feeling of experiencing immersion. Frescoes by Michelangelo in Sistine Chapel are not only about the Bible, but it also gives us the vision of human bodies which impresses people with immersive environment through colors and
lights. We didn’t try to show Sistine Chapel as it is in reality, instead we tried to deliver the opportunity to
experience something you can’t do in real life. And as you go through the motion graphic video based
on data, watch it on-screen, that surrounds you, listen to the sound that fills the room, you are able to
experience “new” Michelangelo. The final goal of Rebel9 company is to provide cultural platform of XXI century by AR technology based on space and Digital Analysis of cultural contents. Rebel9 delivers experience of storytelling one would never be able to have in Sistine Chapel by himself. 360 human figures on frescoes were put into the database and analyzed by poses and facial expressions. Last, but not least, we analyzed the colors on paintings and discovered new connections between pictures never seen before.

Six EZ10 driverless shuttles were operating until June 2015 as part of the European Project CityMobil2 at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).
EPFL University extends over 55 hectares and hosts 13.000 students, administrative staff and technical workers.
The transportation challenge was to cover the distance from the EPFL metro station to the main buildings of the campus.
Six EZ10 shuttles covering a 2.3 km track were in operation on this route from 7:45 am to 7:45 pm during a 6 months time period in 2015.

This is a time-lapse of my photoshop process on a car picture I took.

The total time spent on this was about 4 ½ hours. The final image is a composite of three different exposures- one for the sky, one for the cars, and one for the dark bits like the grill/tires. Once I got home and saw it on a larger screen, I decided to go full OCD on this image and record my screen through the process.

The cars in the picture are two new luxury SUVs: the Jaguar F-Pace and the Maserati Levante. The photo was taken in Santa Monica using only natural light, and was shot on a Sony A7s with a Canon 24-70 ƒ2.8.

Wander through the Crystal Universe from teamLab on Vimeo.

This artwork uses accumulated light points to create a sculptural body, similar to the way distinct dots of color form an image in a pointillist painting. In Crystal Universe, the particles of light are digitally controlled, and change based on the viewer’s interactivity with the work. The result is an installation consisting of an accumulation of lights, forming a sculpture that expresses the universe.

Viewers are invited to enter and walk around within the three-dimensional light space. This movement affects the light particles and creates changes in the installation. Viewers can also interact with the work by using their smartphones to select elements that make up the Crystal Universe.

While Crystal Universe is created by elements selected by the viewers, each action or change affects the other. The viewer’s position within the artwork also influences how the work is created; thus, the artwork is continuously changing.

点描は、点の集合で絵画表現を行ったものだが、これは、光の点の集合で彫刻を創っている。彫刻は、光でできているため、デジタルで制御することによって、インタラクティブに動く。

本作品は、光の彫刻の集合体によって、宇宙空間を表現したインタラクティブなインスタレーションである。

鑑賞者は自身のスマートフォンを通じて、クリスタルユニバースを構成するエレメントを選び、出現させ、クリスタルユニバースを創っていく。そして、鑑賞者は、作品空間に入り歩きまわることができる。

それぞれのエレメントは互いに影響を受ける。また、エレメントは、作品空間内の鑑賞者の存在にも影響を受ける。

クリスタルユニバースは鑑賞者によって刻々と創られていきながら、永遠と変化していく。
